November 3 — Owls & Howls
The Miami County Park District will hold an Owls & Howls Hike on November 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lost Creek Reserve, 2385 E. State Route 41 east of Troy. Join park district naturalist Amalee Houk as we try to call two species rarely seen by humans, an owl and coyote. Learn about these mysterious creatures as while on a leisurely hike by the light of the moon. November 4 — Nature Sketching
The Miami County Park District will hold the new Nature Sketching program on November 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185 north of Covington. Join park district naturalist/artist Kay Hisong on a hike to observe and sketch nature's beauty. Beginners and advanced artists welcome. Bring your own sketching tool. For adults. Class size limited. Class fee $7/person with sketch pad provided or $2/person if you provide your own sketch pad. Payment due at time of registration. Preregistration required. November 4 — Full Moon Campfire
The Miami County Park District will hold a Full Moon Campfire program on November 4 from 8 to 10 p.m. at Charleston Falls Preserve, 2535 Ross Rd. south of Tipp City. Join park district naturalist John De Boer at this fun campfire program. Participants will enjoy stories, music and a crackling warm fire under the full moon. November 7 — Adult Exploration Hike
The Miami County Park District will hold an Adult Exploration Hike on November 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Garbry Big Woods Reserve, 6660 Casstown-Sidney Rd. east of Piqua. Join park district naturalist Sassafras Susan to discover the birds, plants and trees across the county, one park at a time. These hikes are a great opportunity to get out in nature and learn together. Walks last about two hours and are not strenuous or fast-paced. Due to weather, trails may be wet. Wear appropriate shoes. The Miami County Park District will offer a Girl Scout "Geocacher" program on November 11 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Garbry Big Woods Reserve, 6660 Casstown-Sidney Rd. east of Piqua. Work towards earning your merit badges. Class fee $3 per scout. Preregistration as a troop is required. The Miami County Park District will hold its Preschool in the Park "Calling All Turkeys" program on November 14 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lost Creek Reserve, 2385 E. State Route 41 east of Troy. Join park district naturalist Gecko Jody and learn all about turds. There will be story time and a short tot sized hike. There is a $3 class fee due at the time of registration. Class size limited to 12, class minimum is four. Must be registered to attend. November 17 — Souper — Walk
The Miami County Park District will hold its Souper-Walk program on November 17 at 7 to 9 p.m. at Charleston Falls Preserve, 2535 Ross Rd. south of Tipp City. Enjoy a guided, nighttime hike through the woods followed by a warm crackling fire and hot cup of homemade soup. Hikers are encouraged to bring a can of soup for donation to a local food pantry. Come out and join this beginners level cooking class which focuses on simple healthy recipes with ingredients grown locally or on the farm. Eating healthy on a budget will be discussed. Food preparation and sampling will occur. Class fee $5 per class or $10 for the series. Space is limited. Preregistration is required. November 19 — Dog Social "Bark in the Park"
The Miami County Park District will hold its Dog Social "Bark in the Park" on November 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185 north of Covington. If your dog is nice and plays well with others, bring them to the park to take part in the "Bark in the Park" program. Don't miss this fun event! November 20 — Trailing Moms & Tots

This program is for expectant mothers, mothers and tots 0 to five years of age. Participants can socialize, play and exercise during this walk. There may even be craft time. November 26 — Naturalist Adventure Series "Rock Hounds"

The Miami County Park District will hold its Naturalist Adventure Series "Rock Hounds" on November 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Charleston Falls Preserve, 2535 Ross Rd. south of Tipp City. Drop by to learn all about rocks. Participants can learn to identify different types of rocks and how they were formed. A roving naturalist will be on-site to answer questions and facilitate activity. November 26 — Storybook Trail "If You Find A Rock"
The Miami County Park District will host the storybook trail program "If You Find a Rock" on November 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Charleston Falls Preserve, 2535 Ross Rd. south of Tipp City. Drop anytime during the program and read this storybook is set up along the trail. This Storybook Trail is part of the "Rock Hounds" Naturalist Adventure Series program. November 26 — Music in the Park "Ancient Music"
The Miami County Park District will hold its Music in the Park "Ancient Music" program on November 26 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Charleston Falls Preserve, 2535 Ross Rd. south of Tipp City. Participants are invited to listen to the sound of ancient music and nature. Bring a blanket or a chair.
