Police Reports for the week ending December 16, 2017



Sunday, December 10

9:17 a.m. - To Stephenson Dr. for a report of a man not breathing. Medics determined that the man had passed away.

4:26 p.m. - To Fountain St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man was charged with domestic violence. He had left the scene prior to officers' arrival, and they were unable to locate him.


Monday, December 11

1:32 a.m. - An officer saw a reckless driver in the area of Archer Dr. and Peters Rd. He tried to stop the vehicle, but it fled. The officer quickly terminated the pursuit. The vehicle was found abandoned at McKaig and Grant. The owner said her sister had the vehicle, but has no idea where she was or how to reach her. The vehicle was towed.

8:00 a.m. - To Wheeler St. for a report of unruly juveniles. Two juveniles were refusing to go to school. They were both charged with being unruly and their parents took them to school.

11:25 p.m. - To W. Main St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that tools were taken from his vehicle while it was parked.

12:03 p.m. - An officer saw a vehicle southbound on Union St. He recognized the driver as being suspended. He caught up with the vehicle as it was parking on Walker St. The driver got out and acted like she was looking at a house. She was advised of her driving status, and said that she thought she had taken care of it. She was cited for driving under suspension and the vehicle was left parked at the scene.

12:49 p.m. - To Main & Cherry Streets for a report of a 2-vehicle accident.

2:41 p.m. - To the 1800 block of W. Main St. for a report of a suspicious individual. A man was later charged wtih theft.

10:28 p.m. An officer saw an individual that he knew had an outstanding warrant. He initiated a traffic stop at S. Market and W. Market. The man had a warrant for forgery from Auglaize County. He was taken to the Incarceration Facility.


Tuesday, December 12

9:14 a.m. - To W. Franklin St. at Cherry St. for a report of criminal damaging. A man reported that his vehicle was damaged while it was parked in the area. There are no suspects.

12:43 p.m. - A man came to the Police Station to report finding an Ipad in a Toys for Tots barrel. The Ipad had a photo of two ladies at an Ohio State game, but the Ipad was password protected and the officer could not gain access to try to identify the owner. He checked and no Ipad was reported missing. It was placed inthe property locker.

2:30 p.m. - To the area of N. Walnut and E. Main for a report of a disturbance. Officers arrived to find several juveniles fighting. Four of them were charged with being unruly.

3:42 p.m. - To Stonyridge Ave. for a report of a theft. A man reported a Samsung tablet was taken from his front porch. He said that FedEx had delivered the item, but it was gone when he came home.

4:41 p.m. To the 700 block of W. Market for a report of a private property crash. Both parties exchanged information.

7:22 p.m. - To S. Walnut St. for a report of phone harassment. Two individuals were warned.


Wednesday, December 13

1:21 a.m. - Traffic stop on Archer Dr. near Peters Ave. The driver was found to be under suspension and was cited. The plates were confiscated and the vehicle was towed. During the pre-tow inventory, an open container of beer was found in the vehicle. The driver was also charged with open container.

2:16 a.m. - Traffic stop on W. Market at I-75. The driver was found to be under suspension and drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle. The driver was cited for both offenses and released.

12:19 p.m. - A Windridge Dr. resident called to report that someone had used his credit card. He was advised to call back when he had more information.

12:13 p.m. - To W. Main and Troy Town Dr. for a report of a non-injury crash. One citation was issued.

3:01 p.m. - To E. Staunton Rd. for a report of a juvenile male brandishing a firearm. He was described as having blonde, red and black hair. Officers patrolled the area but could not find anyone matching that description. The RP was contacted and said that the juvenile had red tint to his hair.

9:32 p.m. - To the 1800 block of W. Main St. for a report of a theft. A store employee reported observing a woman entering the dressing room with shoes, but exiting without shoes. The employee reported seeing shoes in the woman's sweatshirt. She was stopped outside the store and gave the shoes to the employee. She was cited for theft.


Thursday, December 14

4:04 p.m. - To Minster Bank for a report of a fraud. Bank employees reported that a white man came into the bank and tried to cash a fraudulent check. Employees believe that they scared the individual and he left. They were informed that the incident would be investigated.

4:35 p.m. - To the area of W. Market St. near I-75 for a report of a traffic accident. The at-fault driver was cited for assured clear distance.

5:00 p.m. - To the 700 block of S. Mulberry St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone stole about 30 DVDs and 10 knives from his home.

6:20 p.m. - To S> Markey St. for a report of a non-injury accident. The driver of a Kia said that she was rear-ended by the driver of a Nissan. The driver of the Nissan was cited for assured clear distance.

6:25 p.m. - To the 800 block of S. Market St. for a report of a disturbance. an adult male was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to Upper Valley Medical Center.

7:50 p.m. - To Henly Rd. for a report of an overdose. Officers assisted Medics in getting the individual to cooperate. The individual was found to have outstanding warrants for drug possession. The individual was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment, then taken to the Miami County Jail.

9:21 p.m. - To Stonyridge Av.e for a report of a domestic disturbance. One of the individuals had already fled the home. He was charged with domestic violence.


Friday, December 15

3:37 a.m. - Traffic stop on Main St. at I-75. The vehicle had expired plates, and the driver was cited.

3:41 a.m. - Officers were advised to be on the lookout for a missing juvenile from Sidney. He was possibly going to Troy to see his girlfriend. His vehicle was located outside the girlfriend's home and he was found inside the home. He was taken to the West Central Juvenile Detention Center.

2:13 p.m. - To W. Main St. for a report of a theft. The suspect was located in the store and arrested for theft and for an outstanding warrant. He was taken to the Miami County Jail.

4:49 p.m. - An officer saw a vehicle parked in a handicapped parking space in the 1800 block of W. Main St. The driver was cited.

5:17 p.m. - Traffic stop on W. Main at I-75. The driver was cited for a red light violation.

5:20 p.m. - To Clay St. for a report of a disturbance. The officer arrived to find several juveniles who were arguing. One individual is reported to have threatened the other juveniles with a knife, but conflicting statements led officers to believe that it might not have happened. Each juvenile was trespassed from each other's property.

5:30 p.m. - To Kroger's for a report of a theft. An employee was charged with theft and escorted from the building.

5:41 p.m. - To Stonyridge Ave. for a report of an accident. A southbound driver struck the mirror of a parked vehicle. The driver was cited.

5:54 p.m. - To Robin Hood Ln. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a watch that she had ordered online was delivered to her home and was stolen. There are no suspects.

6:45 p.m. To Mayfield Dr. A woman reported that photographs of her had been posted to the internet by an unknown person.

8:43 p.m. - An officer saw a Chevy Captiva run a red light at W. Main and Stanfield Rd. He initiated a traffic stop and cited the driver for failure to obey a traffic control device.

10:28 p.m. - To Windridge Pl. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone stole her trash can. There are no suspects.

10:46 p.m. - To Long St. for a report of child abuse. Investigation showed that the juveniles were not being abused or neglected.


Saturday, December 16

1:18 a.m. - Traffic stop on Brukner Dr. at the Royal Inn. The driver was found to have no driver's license and was cited.

2:36 a.m. - Traffic stop on Archer Dr. near Brukner Dr. The driver was found to be suspended and was cited. The passenger was found to be in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and was issued citations.

3:32 p.m. - An officer saw a vehicle traveling at 58 MPH in a 35 MPH zone while westbound on Staunton Rd. between Skylark and Maplecrest. He initiated a traffic stop and issued a citation.

4:54 p.m. - To the 1300 block of Skylark to look for a wanted person. Two subjects were arrested on warrants and taken to the Miami County Jail.

6:46 p.m. - An officer saw a vehicle northbound on Mulberry from Franklin and turned onto westbound Main St. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for a one-way street violation.

9:01 p.m. - To the 800 block of N. Market St. for a report of a man and a woman passed out in a car. Open containers and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. The passenger was issued a summons for Open container and the driver was arrested for Physical control. The driver was released after processing and charges are pending for Physical control and various drug charges when results are received from the crime lab.
