Police Reports for the week ending November 25, 2017



Sunday, November 19

10:08 a.m. - Traffic stop on S. Dorset on a vehicle whose plates had expired last May. The driver said he did not know that they were expired. He was cited and released.

11:22 a.m. - To Stonebridge Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. One male was arrested on a warrant.

11:44 a.m. - To the Petco lot on W. Main St. for a report of a hit/skip accident. A man reported that his son had parked in the lot Friday night after having mechanical problems. HE said he went back today to get the vehicle and found that someone had struck the front passenger side quarter panel. There are no suspects.

3:32 p.m. - Traffic stop on Adams St. near Ferguson. The driver was cited for speed.

4:23 p.m. - To Saratoga Dr. for a report of criminal damaging.

6:21 p.m. - Traffic stop on W. Main St. The vehicle was clocked at 47 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. The driver had a prior speed conviction last month. The driver was cited for speed.

6:37 p.m. - Traffic stop on W. Main between Plum and Short. The driver was cited for speed (40/25).

10:18 p.m. - Traffic stop in the northwest quadrant of the square. The driver was cited for expired registration.


Monday, November 20

8:45 a.m. - To the intersection of Race and Plum for a report of a non-injury crash. The at-fault driver was cited for a stop sign violation.

9:21 p.m. - Traffic stop on McKaig. The vehicle was clocked at 43 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. The driver said that she didn't realize that she was going that fast and that her speedometer must be off. She was cited and released.

4:10 p.m. - To Kohl's for a report of a suspicious person inside the store. Two suspects were charged with theft, complicity, possession of criminal tools and driving under suspension.

8:04 p.m. - To Staunton St. for a report of a burglary. There are no suspects or witnesses.


Tuesday, November 21

12:56 a.m. - To the 700 block of S. Crawford St. for a report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, the house was checked and no one was found inside. Several items were stolen from inside the house. No evidence was found.

3:07 a.m. - To Bunker Hill Ct. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that a subject had kicked in the back door to the apartment and gained entry. The woman reported that the subject had grabbed her phone out of her hand, threw it against a wall, then fled the scene. Charges of burglary were filed against the subject.

8:37 a.m. - To the 1800 block of W. Main St. for a report of a non-injury crash. One citation was issued.

9:43 a.m. - While on patrol, an officer observed silver Chev S-10 parked the wrong way on Patton St. Upon running the plates, the officer found them to be Fictitious and expired. The truck was towed.

12:26 p.m. - To the 900 block of S. Walnut St. for a report of a hit/skip accident.

3:48 p.m. - To Adams St. for a report of a fraud.

7:37 p.m. - While at Troy Bowl, an individual reported finding a wallet. The officer tried to contact the owner but was unsuccessful. The wallet was submitted into property.

8:36 p.m. - To Floral Ave. for a report of a man sleeping in a vehicle. The subject was identified and taken tino custody for trespassing adn vehicular trespass. Upon arrival at the Miami County Jail, the suspect claimed that he needed medical attention. Troy Medics transported him to UVMC, but upon arrival he declined medical attention. He was taken back into custody and during transport to the jail, he was banging his head and kicking cruiser windows and partition. Additional charges of criminal damaging were filed against him.

8:56 p.m. - To Fountain St. for a report of violation of a protection order. A suspect was charged.

9:50 p.m. - To the 1300 block of Skylark Dr. for a report of a disturbance. A juvenile was charged with domestic violence.


Wednesday, November 22

2:48 a.m. - Traffic stop on Plum at Simpson. The driver was cited for no driver's license and possession of marijuana. The vehicle was towed and the driver ordered into court.

10:13 a.m. - To Chelsea Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her washer and dryer were stolen.

1:41 p.m. - To the 1800 block of W. Main St. for a report of a rpivate property accident.

2:42 p.m. - To the 1200 block of Race St. to assist Troy medics with an overdose. A female patient was revived and charges were filed.

3:47 p.m. - To Kroger's for a private property crash. A maroon Jeep backed into a white GMC Acadia which was traveling in the thru lane. Both drivers exchanged information.

4:05 p.m. - To Staunton Commons Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that the license plate from her vehicle was stolen. The plate was entered into the system.

4:24 p.m. - To Skylark Dr. for a report of an unruly juvenile. The juvenile was charged with being unruly.

4:30 p.m. - An officer saw a vehicle turn right on red from S. Elm St. at McKaig. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

6:29 p.m. - To Market at Kirk Lane for a report of a two-car crash. One driver was cited for failure to yield right-of-way when turning left.

6:43 p.m. - To a church (name not specified in the report) for a report of an aggressive dog in the vestibule. The brown and black pit bull type dog was found not to be aggressive. He was enticed to the officer with Cheetos and was able to be leashed and walked with the officer to his cruiser. During transport the pit bull was friendly and again enjoyed Cheetos during the ride to Miami County Animal Shelter. The pit bull did not have any tags, only a blue collar.

8:58 p.m. - To Kohl's for a report of a disturbance. An assistant manager reported that an employee and a customer had a shouting match. One officer spoke with the employee and another spoke with the customer.

9:15 p.m. - To McDonald's for a report of a private property crash.

9:42 p.m. - To Kroger's for a report of found property. An employee reported finidng a back pack in the lobby. The officer checked the back pack for identification, but found none. It was submitted into property.

11:04 p.m. - To Foxchase Ct. for a report of a disturbance. It was reported that a physical altercation occurred in which one male was bleeding from the face. The primary aggressor left before Officers arrived and was later located and charged with felonious assault.


Thursday, November 23

1:12 a.m. - Traffic stop on W. Main near Cedar. The driver was cited for speed.

4:08 a.m. - To Kroger's for a report of an assault. A woman reported that she was assaulted at a residence on Clay St. They went to that address and arrested a suspect for assault. The suspect was taken to the Miami County Incarceration Facility. The victim was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center.

4:08 a.m. To McKaig and Elm to assist Troy Medics with a man reported to be slumped over at the wheel. He was located and found to be under the unfluence of alcohol. He was arrested for OVI.

7:05 p.m. - To the 500 block of Summit for a report of suspicious individuals. They were located and warned for trespassing.

8:38 p.m. To the 800 block of N. Market St. for a report of phone harassment.


Friday, November 24

12:44 a.m. - Traffic stop on the UDF lot. The driver was found to be suspended and in possession of drug paraphernalia. During a search at the jail, he was found to have concealed durgs in his rectum. He was taken to UVMC for treatemnt and held for observation. He was charged with driving under suspension, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending lab results.

12:46 p.m. - An officer saw a vehicle parked in the 700 block of S. Mulberry St. with expired tags. The owner was cited and the vehicle towed.

1:03 p.m. - To Mystic Ln. S. for a report of a civil dispute. One individaul was charged with phone harassment.

1:26 p.m. - To the 1300 block of W. Main St. for a report of phone harassment. The suspect was warned.

7:03 p.m. - To W. Water St. for a report of a hit-skip accident. A witness said that a red car struck a silver car and drove off. The red car was located and the driver was cited.


Saturday, November 25

12:41 a.m. - An officer saw a vehicle speeding, weaving and failing to use a turn signal. He initiated a traffic stop in the Wendy's parking lot on Archer Dr. He could smell the odor of burnt marijuana and searched the vehicle. The driver was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The passenger was charged with underage consumption, open container and possession of drug paraphernalia.

2:34 a.m. - To the 500 block of Lake St. for a report of a disturbance. Dispatch advised that there was a large fight in the middle of the street. Officers saw a brown GMC Acadia leaving the scene. They stopped the vehicle and the driver, who was intoxicated, was arrested for OVI and disorderly conduct.

7:42 a.m. - To the 400 block of Inaiana Ave. for a report of found property. A baggie of marijuana was found on the sidewalk.

8:49 a.m. - To the 1200 block of Archer Dr. for a report of found property. A large American flag was found on the ground. It was placed into evidence.

2:49 p.m. - To the 900 block of Canal St. for a report of a neighbor dispute. A man reported that his neighbors were coming onto his property and making threats. The officer spoke with the neighbor who said that no one in the family had been on the RP's property, but that the RP was making threats to them. Both parties were warned for trespassing.

3:05 p.m. - To the area of Oak and Franklin for a report of an accident. One driver was cited for a stop sign violation.

4:30 p.m. - To Maplewood Dr. for a report of a dog bite. The victim was treated by Troy Medics. The dog's owner was cited for allowing the dog to run at large.

4:36 p.m. - To Fricker's for a report of trespassing. The suspect was warned for trespassing and telecommunications harassment.

5:37 p.m. - An officer saw a vehicle with expired tags parked in the 500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. The owner was cited.
